Sandals Resorts across the Caribbean are paying homage to the very land and seascapes that provides the tourism industry with its livelihood—thanks be to Mother Nature! From beach clean-ups in Montego Bay Jamaica to Great Exuma in the Bahamas, Sandals is rallying together not just on Earth Day, but the entire month of April in honor of the company’s annual environment-focused objectives through the Sandals Foundation. 

All year long, the Sandals Foundation charges itself to make a positive difference in the Caribbean through three pillars of charitable work—Education, Community and Environment, so it’s not unusual that on Earth Day resort guests, staff and locals are teaming up to give the environment a makeover in appreciation of all the beauty and livelihood it grants to those who live and visit the Caribbean.

It’s beach clean-ups and activities such as these that help the Caribbean islands continue to thrive and welcome islands-seekers from all over the world. Here are just a few snapshots of the latest Earth Day-inspired projects that are taking place:

• Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals Carlyle joined  forces with the Montego Bay Marine Park Trust and other partners for a massive clean-up effort at one of Montego Bay’s most popular public beaches.

• Sandals Whitehouse European Villages & Spa  teamed up with local Kings Primary and Whitehouse Early Child Institute schools for a beach clean-up of Jamaica’s south coast.

•  Sandals Emerald Bay, in Great Exuma, Bahamas conducted a resort-wide beach cleanup of Emerald Bay.
