Beaches Resorts Wins Excellence Award At The 2019 Family Traveller Awards
On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, Beaches Resorts was honored with an Excellence Award at the newly formatted Family Traveller Excellence Awards. Beaches Resorts was one of five winners in the Accessible & Special Initiatives category, which acknowledges vacation companies that strive to support children and adults with additional needs.
The prestigious Family Traveller Awards recognize travel companies that offer outstanding facilities for families, with categories ranging from Sustainable Intentions and Cool Innovations to Immersive Experiences and Learning & Enrichment.
Over 110,000 votes were cast by Family Traveller readers and subscribers to find the winners for the 50 Excellence Award, double the number of votes for the 2018 awards.
Held at the Natural History Museum Ice Rink, the award ceremony recognized Beaches Resorts as the first resort company in the world named a designated Autism Centre by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), a global leader in online training and certification programs. Earlier this year, Beaches also obtained the Advanced Certified Autism Centre (ACAC), putting the Luxury Included resorts above the competition. Beaches was also recognized for its ongoing partnership with Sesame Street® and introducing Julia, Sesame Street’s first autistic character to the family.
Singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Family Traveller Editor, Jane Anderson, presented the awards.
Managing Director of Unique Vacations UK Ltd., representatives of Beaches Resorts in the UK and Europe, Karl Thompson, commented: “We’re delighted with this accolade. This is the second time we have been successful at the Family Traveller Excellence Awards, and it’s amazing to be recognized for our Advanced Certified Autism accreditation. We work hard to make sure that we cater to all families and their needs and will continue evolving in the years to come”.
Other winners in the Accessible & Specialist Initiative category included; San Antonio’s Morgan’s Wonderland (USA), Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Centre (USA), Intrepid Travel, and Virgin Atlantic.
