This past Sunday the Sandals Foundation was featured on Sunday ‘Today’ show hosted by Willie Geist highlighted as a way to "vacation with a purpose" with voluntourism becoming a popular way to vacation. This special segment of the Today Show highlighted travel companies that offer vacationers ways to “give back” while on vacation and Sandals was one of the select few! One of those ways is through the Sandals Foundation Reading Road Trip, where you get the opportunity to give back to local children while making an impact.

A little background on voluntourism: voluntourism is a form of tourism where travelers participate in volunteer opportunities, like the Sandals Foundation Reading Road Trip. The Sandals Foundation also offers other initiatives on how to make an Island Impact and for those looking to spend time during their vacation giving back.

On location in Ocho Rios Jamaica, Morgan Radford of the Today Show was able to experience first hand how the Reading Road Trip makes a difference in the lives of local children. While visiting Boscobel Primary School and Seville Golden Pre-School, Morgan was able to read to children and helped renew their love of not only reading but also learning.
